HEALTH ALERT:  Ask your doctor about the side effects of cholesterol lowering drugs and BEFORE resorting to them, don't be afraid to seek alternatives (i.e. exercise and nutrition).

"High cholesterol" is a symptom - not a disease.  Just like a runny nose is a symptom of allergies.  Statin drugs are used to block the liver's production of cholesterol.  Statin drugs treat a symptom, but they don't provide a cure.  Side effects of these drugs may include liver toxicity, muscle pain, CoQ10 depletion (which leads to heart disease), sexual dysfunction, immune deficiency, and loss of cognitive skills.  Talk with your doctor.
