HEALTH ALERT:  Ask your doctor about the side effects of cholesterol lowering drugs and BEFORE resorting to them, don't be afraid to seek alternatives (i.e. exercise and nutrition).

"High cholesterol" is a symptom - not a disease.  Just like a runny nose is a symptom of allergies.  Statin drugs are used to block the liver's production of cholesterol.  Statin drugs treat a symptom, but they don't provide a cure.  Side effects of these drugs may include liver toxicity, muscle pain, CoQ10 depletion (which leads to heart disease), sexual dysfunction, immune deficiency, and loss of cognitive skills.
